The Positive Side of COVID-19

Over the last number of weeks, our lives have had a very different focus. COVID-19 has sent shock waves through the world, our counties, our cities, towns, and into every one of our neighborhoods. It has changed our focus, our daily lives, and most importantly our understanding of our ability to impact each other. COVID-19 has taught us that something happening to one person in another country far away, has the capability of directly impacting us, in our home, on the other side of the world. COVID-19 has reminded us that what we do has a direct effect on the lives of not only our family and friends, but expands to our neighbors and endlessly to strangers we will never meet.

We have learned with COVID-19 that we must come together. We must shift our focus from thinking that our actions are personal, that our actions only affect us, and our personal lives, to looking at ourselves as an extension of our community, our town, our province, and our country. We must understand that in order to save the lives of many, we must all come together and act as one.

This mind shift has made us come together to not only try and flatten the COVID-19 curve, but also to support each other in any way we can. AND ITS AMAZING! So many people are offering their services to help… from going to buy groceries, and personal items for those who are less able or at higher risk, campaigning for grocery stores to dedicate an hour just for those who need extra support, shifting their distillery to create hand sanitizer and many more! It’s a time of social distancing. A time when for the sake of our lives, we must be apart. Yet, we have taken our new appreciation of community, our personal impact, and put it to use to come together and support each other.

This is why we opened our Access Pass for free. We created Pulse Cardiac Health to help, and we wanted to do just that. If you have cardiovascular disease you are more susceptible to complications with this virus. Looking after your health is more important now than ever. Yet during this time our rehabilitation programs not running, gym and recreation facilities are closed, and many of the supports people rely on are no longer available. We knew we could step in and make an impact here, and we feel so grateful to help. We have the ability to offer that support for anyone who needs it. All you have to do to register for the Access Pass is enter the code: hearthealth100.

Here is a little news brief from Castanet with a little more about it!

We are so proud to be part of this community. We are so impressed by how much we are coming together. This is a scary time. So many of us are struggling with concerns about our health, our finances, and what’s to come. Seeing this positivity… the signs on people’s trees that are thanking the health care workers, bringing pizza to the hospital staff, the creativity of birthday parades in lieu of parties, social distancing block parties, standing outside in unison to make noise together. So much positivity. So much coming together, showing our support together. Understanding how our personal actions are no longer personal… we are all one. It is simply amazing!

Take care, Stay healthy!
